Congressional Hearing on Endometriosis

On March 1, 2023, the team behind EndoWhat?’s Below the Belt documentary hosted a private screening at Capitol Hill for members of Congress. Following the screening, a panel of 8 women, all living with or affected by Endometriosis presented their action plan:

  1. A National, Multi-Component Public Health Campaign for Endometriosis Awareness, Education, and Stigma Reduction

  2. Increased funding for Basic Science, Clinical, Epidemiological, Social and Behavioral, and Translational/Implementation Science Research

  3. Decrease barriers for endometriosis patients to attain disability benefits and accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act

  4. Expand fundamental components of effective management and reduction of costs by improving access to treatment and standardization of evidence-based multidisciplinary care

  5. Create a “National Action Plan on Endometriosis” modeled after the “National Action Plan on Breast Cancer”
