Endometriosis (Endo) is the presence of endometrial-like tissue outside of the uterus.

Endometriosis has been found in the thoracic cavity and tract, abdominal wall and organs, urinary tract, bowels, pelvic walls, and reproductive organs. This includes muscular, vascular, and lymphatic systems throughout the body.
Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 yet has: no cure, ineffective treatment methods, is under-researched, and is consistently misdiagnosed, taking on average 7 - 11 years to properly diagnose.
The gold standard treatment for endometriosis is the excision of lesions by a skilled and knowledgeable surgeon with a multidisciplinary* team.
